In the first instance please email or telephone the club Secretary who will be able to give you more information, but below is an outline of the process for joining.
Potential new members are required to attend 5 society lecture meetings as a guest paying a £10 fee for each meeting (effectivley paying the first years membership fees if accepted into the society).
During this time (2-3 months) we will discuss when you will complete your audition (a performance of approx’ 10 minutes), during this time a candidates suitability to join will be assessed by the Committee and a this along with the audition performance will be used to determine if a prospective member will be accepted into the society.
We do not expect potential new members to be highly skilled at this stage, but they will need to show they can perform their chosen effects properly and follow the magicians code.
On passing you will be a full member able to join the society as a full member.
Membership fees are currently £50 per year.
The audition should not be viewed as a barrier to entry, having come this far in the process everyone will be willing you on and members will be on hand to advise and guide you.
